Here is a simple mod done to a Taska coaster brake hub.
- Removed Brake Shoes
- The clutch had a little shelf looking thing to the non drive side so the brake pieces could sit on it, and I added a steel washer and then an angled aluminum one to it so I could run the driver LHD and keep the hub shell moving the same direction.
- The 12t cog was dremmeled out of a 16t...
- This was possibly the first working right and left hand drive freecoaster
This coaster worked well for a while, but ended up eating through the non-drive side cones ver quickly. The cones used had a very small bearing shelf, and one like those on the Nankai hubs might have prolonged its life.
