Chase Neutral

My friend has been telling me about this mountain biker, Aaron Chase, who has a freecoaster with multiple speeds on his mountain bike. I doubted that, but when I saw the video, it convinced me. I e-mailed him to get more information about it. Eventually I was informed that he was using a signature part made by SIC USA. It is called the “Chase Neutral”, and was disappointing for me

SIC Chase Neutral

The Neutral was designed with the help of Aaron Chase to allow the rider to coast backwards without pedaling. It does this by replacing the lower three gears on the cassette body and allowing the chain to coast between the groves of the carefully constructed Delrin piece. This Super Innovative product will have you riding like Chase in no time.

Although it is a good idea, you cannot pedal forward while in the Neutral gear. That is the major disappointment, so I am working on designs to modify a freecoaster to work with a standard mountain bike cassette (set of cogs).

Here is some information on Delrin.
