This is the first and only freecoaster I have owned and ridden, in fact. Therefore I can't offer a valid comparison to any other freecoasters on the market and my experience is limited to the 6 weeks or so I've been riding mine. Coming from a cassette hub, it is more of a hassle and hard to get used to. As with most things it's worth persevering and if you have the patience, offers many possibilities and rewards, but i guess you don't need me to tell you that.

The good: Not too heavy, easy to customize axles, compatible with small gearing. Only requires a tiny fraction of backpedal to disengage on fakies.

Adjustable slack. Feels extremely smooth and rolls like a dream. Pretty easy to disassemble to change washers around, clean and re-grease.

The bad: Pretty foul colors. I found I have to run quite a lot of slack (one washer) or it reengages during fakies if I pedal forwards slightly when I'm much shifting my weight around.
