Nankai has been the dominant force in freecoasters. It provided the most customizable, reliable, and sustainable Freecoaster on the market for quite a while. However, at least in the street sector, KHE has unseated them...

The Basic Nankai Freecoaster is simple and has stayed pretty much the same over the years. It uses a smoother spring resistance than the Odyssey provided. However, it does have unsealed bearings and a 3/8” axle. This can be changed to 14 mm with adapters, but it has not proven to be very strong. Also, this hub is quite susceptible to damage resulting from a bent axle.

Nankai has released a new 14 mm version of their legendary Freecoaster (mostly this is because of the surge of street oriented Freecoaster riders). It is a bit slimmer than the original. And has completely redesigned internals.
